Can you walk us through the creative process with Morphe?
First, we collaborated on a few mood boards based on my interests in music, art, and culture. Deciding on a jazz club theme, I was introduced to the amazing people at Morphe, who walked me through the steps of constructing the palette. After finalizing the shades, we discussed palette shape, design, and tracing paper. The process itself was such a wonderful opportunity, and I was given the creative freedom to tell my story.
What was your favorite part of the whole experience?
I would have to say my favorite part of this whole experience was the love I felt. Meeting and working with the wonderful team of people who were truly passionate about this project and showed genuine care for me allowed what I envisioned in my head to become a tangible palette. It is still mind-blowing to me! I love how heard I felt throughout this journey and how that translated into the final result. Seeing the finished palette was a peak moment for me.
Was there anything that surprised you about the process?
This trip was full of surprises, but there were two that really stuck out. Ultimately, I was surprised and am forever grateful to have met one of my favorite makeup influencers, Mei Pang. I got the opportunity to pick her brain about her creative ideas and how she carries them out. She is truly inspiring. Lastly, I was surprised to see how many moving parts go into the creation of a palette. From the trial and error of color placement to all the behind-the-scenes of a photo op. It was such a cool and inspiring world to be immersed in.
How do you feel about the final result?
I’m IN LOVE with it! It is everything I could have imagined and more. I am thankful and appreciative of the space I was given to create something so authentic to me and my story. I learned so much about the beauty industry throughout this process. It was all very inspiring, and I hope to blaze a path in it someday!
